I don’t know how long I have been lying there, I may have even cried myself to sleep as my left cheek feels numb. I slowly peel my eyes open and I look to the window in the far corner, the blinds are still up and I can see it’s nearly dusk - greeeaaat I did fall asleep on the floor, god what has my life come to.

Walking back through the bedroom I see Dani sitting on the bed, looking down at her clasped hands in her lap.

”Babe. Everything ok?” I ask her, please god I don’t want any more bad news today I can’t deal with it.

”Errrrm, yeah I think so. Zar’, how would you feel about going to see Flex?” She asks as she bites the inside of her bottom lip.

“I would love to see him, but why are you asking?” He wouldn’t have asked me, would he? Nooo doubt that very much.

She lets out a huge breath, “ahhhh good. I thought you might, well I suggested it to Axe and he was unsure it would be for the best, but he said he’s willing to try if you are and he is ok with it.”

“Yeah, I said I would help anyway I can, when do you want me to go to him?” I ask trying not to sound so eager in my voice, but I can’t help it if I can help contribute to healing Flex then it’s worth it.

“Well, would you like to try now? There is no pressure, we just thought hearing someone else’s voice might help.”

“Yes of course I will,” I reply not missing a beat.

Dani pulls me in for a big bear hug and whispers in my ear, “it’s ok to be upset, I would be the exact same if it was Axe.” I can’t reply to that, thing is as much as I want to have a relationship with Flex I know we could never be like Axe and Dani.
